NH Long-Term Investment to Fuel Transformative Research (NH-LIFT)

NH-LIFT is a new project funded by the National Science Foundation (Award #2412054). The goals are to support the deployment of exciting new research opportunities at each institution of higher education, to develop and strengthen educational and research collaborations with regional industry partners, to share institutional best practices to recruit, empower, and retain a broader and more diverse group of students into STEM, and to build a cohort of NH-LIFT alumni that will support near-peer mentoring and recruitment, while serving as a lifelong connection to the State. To reach these goals in the first four years of the project, four cores will be organized, each with a working group composed of individuals from the partners. A partner institution advisory board will provide feedback and guidance to the leadership team.

  • Plymouth State University
  • Saint Anselm College
  • Community College System of New Hampshire

Research Support Core

Broaden funded research participation at non-R1 institutions and small businesses through improved research support and service capacity.

Academic Infrastructure & Research Facilities Core

Create a statewide network of core facilities to broaden access to advanced instrumentation and technical expertise in support of research, workforce training, and economic development.

Early Career Research Trainee Pathway Core

Increase student and early career researcher success through programming and partnerships to support mentoring, career development, and retention across the jurisdiction.

Administrative Core

Create a coordinated jurisdiction-wide culture of inclusion that connects and democratizes the research environment for all participants.
